Biomedical materials

 
Objectives
 
Through studying and training in the field of biomedical materials science and engineering, studentswillgain the ability and skills to engage in scientific research, technology development, process design, product manufacture and management in the preparation, modification, processing and applications of biomaterials.

This program provides systemic courses including polymer chemistry and physics, the fundamentals of life science and biomaterials science and technology. The courses and practical training are set up to promote students in the following knowledge, skills and personal qualities.
(1) Understand the relationship between the composition, structure and properties of biomaterials and various applications of biomaterials especially polymeric biomaterials, through study biochemistry,cell and molecular biology and materials science and technology
(2) Learn methods for preparation, modification of biomaterials;
(3) Skills and ability in R & D of biomaterials processing, analysis and testing, new product design and industrialization
(4) Familiar with the use of commonly used chemical software and the ability to use computer;
(5) Proficiency in a foreign language, with listening, speaking, reading and writing skills;
(6) Accomplishments in humanities, medical ethics, and effective communication skills, ability to acquire new knowledge lifelong
