Abstract: Prof. Masayoshi Okubo was born on 16th February, 1947. He got the Bachelor Degree and Doctor Degree of Industrial Chemistry at Kobe University on 1969 and 1976, respectively. Prof. Masayoshi Okubo’s main research interests are (I) radical polymerization in aqueous and supercritical CO2 dispersed systems (emulsion polymerization; miniemulsion polymerization, dispersion polymerization, suspension polymerization, and seeded polymerization, etc); (II) controlled/living radical polymerization in aqueous and supercritical CO2 dispersed systems; (III) synthesis of functional polymer particles (hollow particles, nonspherical particles, and capsule particles, etc) and their applications. Now, he is a professor emeritus in Kobe University. More than 370 original papers have been published by Prof. Okubo, including 48 review articles. In addition, Prof. Okubo published 20 books, and held 87 patents in the field of polymer colloids.
